About vomatt

Ask everyone. Hear everyone.

vomatt is a public voting platform. Anyone can ask a question and anyone can answer it, so the direction of a topic comes from everyone who took part, not from the loudest voice.

Why we built it

A vote should count for more than a reaction

Most online polls are built for engagement. You see the running count before you choose, so you vote with the crowd, and the loudest accounts shape the answer.

Communities deserve better. Residents before a council consultation, a team weighing a policy, a shop association picking a market night: each needs to know what people really think.

So vomatt keeps ballots sealed while a poll is open, counts every vote the same, and gives the result back to everyone who took part. A calm tool you can trust, not another feed.

What we promise

How vomatt counts

The same rules on every poll, shown on the poll before you vote.

  • One person, one vote.Every vote counts the same, whoever casts it. Follower counts change nothing.
  • Sealed while open. While a poll is open you see how many people voted, not how they voted. Nobody votes with the crowd.
  • Results when it closes. When the poll ends the counts are revealed, and everyone who voted is told the result is in.
  • You know who can see your choice. Each poll says, before you vote, whether anyone will see what you chose once it ends.

Voting

How to vote

It takes a few seconds.

  1. Find a poll

Browse the For you feed, search Explore, or open a link someone shared with you.

  2. Pick one option and vote

Your ballot is sealed right away. You see the turnout, never the running count.

  3. Change your mind if you need to

Until the poll ends you can update or withdraw your vote from the poll itself.

  4. Come back for the result

When the poll closes you get a notification, and the result is there for everyone who took part.

Asking

How to ask a question

Anyone signed in can ask. A good poll takes a minute to write.

  1. Write the question

Use Create in the sidebar, or the center button of the tab bar on your phone.

  2. Add the options

Two or more, each different. Press Enter to add the next one.

  3. Choose who can see and vote

Everyone lists it in the feed and Explore. Unlisted is for anyone with the link. Invite only is for the people you invite. This can't change once the poll opens.

  4. Set the timing and privacy

Pick when it opens and closes, and whether anyone sees who chose what once it ends. Voters see this before they vote.

  5. Share the link

Send it to the people who should answer. We'll tell you when the results are in.

Beyond the ballot

More you can do

  • Make the case

Explain your choice in the discussion under each poll, and reply to others.

  • Follow people

Their polls join your Following feed. Following never shows them how you voted.

  • Hear when it matters

Notifications tell you when results are in, when you're invited, and when a poll is about to close.

  • Invite lists

Save groups of people to invite to Invite-only polls. Only you can see them, and nobody is told they're in one.

Tips

Tips for a good poll

Ask one thing at a time

A question with two ideas in it gets an answer nobody can read. Split it into two polls.

Keep options short and distinct

People decide in seconds. Options that overlap split the vote, so make each one clearly different.

Give it enough time

A few days lets people who aren't online every hour take part. An Invite-only poll ends early once everyone invited has voted.

Decide on visibility before it opens

Voters see who will be able to see their choice before they vote. Pick Nobody when you only need the totals; people answer more honestly.

Vote without your name on the list

Turn on Hide my name from voter lists when you vote, or make it your default in Settings. You're still counted.

Say why in the discussion

A short reason helps others weigh the options, and helps everyone read the result once it's revealed.

Thanks for showing up

Every voice counts the same here. Find a poll that matters to you, or ask the next question.
